Hello again! I have two cards today. I love the variety of stamps in the new 2021-2022 Stampin' Up!® Annual Catalogue and one very versatile set is the Stellar Birthday stamp set. This set is being highlighted this week by Stampin' Through The Catalog so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to make some cards.
For the first card, I wanted to make a simple card using Designer Series Paper to create my starry background. I also used Stampin' Blends and some pieces of left over die cut pieces from THIS card, which I used to create the effect of planets.
Instructions:
- Use a piece of Basic Black card A4 cut in half lengthwise and folded. Use Versamark Ink and stamp the stars from the Stellar Birthday stamp set onto it. Heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
- Use a smaller piece of Basic White and attach the dotty Pattern Party Host Designer Series Paper with Liquid Glue as well as the Basic White to the card base.
- Stamp the space dog images and sentiment using Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White card. Colour the images with Stampin' Blends and fussy cut them out. Attach the sentiment onto an off cut of the reverse of the dotty patterned paper with Liquid Glue. Attach the dogs to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
- Use a piece of Basic White on the inside of the card with another strip of the reverse side of the dotty DSP attached with Liquid Glue.
It was hard to photograph the texture and sparkle from the embossing, so I thought I would film this short video to illustrate it better.
For my second card, I wanted to show a background created using ink blending and heat embossing as well as having some fun colouring with Stampin' Blends.
Instructions:
- Use a piece of Gorgeous Grape card A4 cut in half lengthwise and folded. Attach a smaller piece of Basic White.
- Use a piece of Shimmery White card and using Blending Brushes blend multiple shades of pink, purple and blue inks on to the card (see below for product list). Stamp the stars again from the Stellar Birthday set using Versamark Ink onto the blended background. Heat emboss with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. Allow this to be purposefully messy to give more of a realistic starry background.
- Stamp the rockets and sentiment using Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White card. Fussy cut the rockets out and colour with Stampin' Blends (see product list below). Mat the sentiment onto a piece of Gorgeous Grape card. Attach both the sentiment and rockets to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
- Add some diamond shaped Silver and clear Epoxy Essentials to the card to mimic more stars.
